Make the Cut Mobile Application

This Privacy Policy describes how Make the Cut (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, stores, and shares information about you when you use the Make the Cut mobile application (“App”). By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this Policy.

  • Password (stored in encrypted form — we never store plain-text passwords)

  • Phone number

  • City and state

  • Profile picture

  • Social media profile links (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook)

  • Payment information (processed by Apple or Google — we do not store your payment card details)

  • Messages submitted through the Contact Us form

Information Collected Automatically

  • Device type, operating system, and app version

  • IP address and general location data

  • App usage data, including features accessed and content viewed

  • Push notification and SMS opt-in status

  • Subscription status and billing history

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Create and manage your account

  • Process and manage your subscription

  • Deliver content, notifications, and updates through the App

  • Send SMS notifications to users who have opted in

  • Identify your city and state for experience selection and giveaway eligibility

  • Respond to your messages and support requests

  • Improve the App and develop new features

  • Enforce our Terms of Use and other policies

  • Comply with applicable legal obligations

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We may share your information in the following limited circumstances:

3.1.  Service Providers. We may share information with third-party service providers who assist us in operating the App, including Firebase (authentication and database), RevenueCat (subscription management), Twilio (SMS delivery), and Apple and Google (payment processing and app distribution). These providers are bound by confidentiality obligations and may only use your information to perform services on our behalf.

3.2.  Legal Requirements. We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or in response to valid legal process, including a court order or government request.

3.3.  Business Transfers. In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or substantially all of our assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

3.4.  With Your Consent. We may share your information in other ways if you have given us your explicit consent to do so.

4. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with the App’s services. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within a reasonable period, except where we are required to retain it for legal or compliance purposes.

5. Your Rights & Choices

5.1.  Access and Update. You may access and update your personal information at any time through your Profile page in the App.

5.2.  Delete Account. You may delete your account at any time through the App. Account deletion will result in the removal of your personal information from our active systems, subject to applicable retention requirements.

5.3.  SMS Opt-Out. You may opt out of SMS notifications at any time by replying STOP to any message or by updating your notification preferences in the App.

5.4.  Push Notification Opt-Out. You may disable push notifications through your device settings at any time.

5.5.  California Residents. If you are a California resident, you may have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to request deletion, and the right to opt out of the sale of personal information. 6. Children’s Privacy

The App is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 13 without parental consent, we will take steps to delete that information promptly. Users between the ages of 13 and 17 must have parental or guardian consent to participate in giveaways or experiences as described in our Contest & Giveaway Rules.

7. Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Third-Party Links & Services

The App may contain links to third-party services including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, Google Maps, and Shopify. This Privacy Policy does not apply to those services. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party services you access through the App.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through the App or via email. Your continued use of the App after changes become effective constitutes your acceptance of the revised Policy.
